Hayagriva Mahadeva Temple
at Hajo near Guwahati in Assam: An imposing temple with a shikhara and interesting sculptural work where the presiding deitiy is worshipped as the Man Lion incarnation of Vishnu by the Hindus and as Budha by Budhists. (Ancient temple rebuilt in the 16th century)
Kamakhya Temple
at Guwahati in Assam: A center for Shakti worship (a Peetha), rebuilt in the 16th century - on Neelachal Hill and is a good specimen of Assamese sculptural work.
Kedareswara Temple

Navagraha Temple
at Guwahati in Assam: Located on Chitrachal hill and once a center for the study of astrology this temple dates back to the 17th century.
Neghriting Temple
at Sibsagar in Assam: Shiva temple dating back to the 17th century rebuilt on a hill in the 18th century. A grand temple with beautiful sculptural work.
Sib Dol Temple
at Sibsagar in Assam: This Shiva temple on the banks of the Sibsagar Tank is an important landmark in the artistic history of Assam.
Sukreswara Temple
at Guwahati in Assam: Said to be worshipped by Sage Sukra, this 18th century temple is said to have the largest lingam in India.
Sun Temple
at Goalpara in Assam: A relatively modern temple enshrines a circular stone tablet with 12 Adityas with Kasyapa in the center. The Surya Pahar hill is virtually a picture gallery of archeological remains.
Tamresvari Temple
at Sadiya in Assam: Ruins of this temple represent one of the oldest and important temples in the region - a center of tantric worship.
Ugra Tara
Temple at Guwahati in Assam: This important Sakta shrine dates back to the 18th century.
Umananda Temple
